Tlacochahuaya is a palimpsest of anachronic trains of thought interposing painting and video. The installation is composed of a video of the murals of an indigenous church in the town of Tlacochahuaya, Oaxaca, together with the «counter» restoration of the emblematic mural » Dream of a Sunday afternoon in Alameda Central» by Diego Rivera. The restoration is a live action which takes place over the duration of the exhibition, and selects only certain elements of Rivera’s original, thereby dovetailing different histories, temporalities and significances.
